As part of CLP’s commitment to sustainability, CLP Power is exploring the feasibility of developing an offshore wind farm in the south-eastern waters of Hong Kong. Advancements in wind turbine technology and the ongoing development of the offshore wind sector in Asia have improved the potential feasibility and competitiveness of developing offshore wind energy in Hong Kong.
In support of the HKSAR government’s long-term decarbonisation strategy and ambition to achieve carbon neutrality for Hong Kong before 2050, CLP Power has started the engineering studies, collection of environmental data and stakeholder communications for the proposed Hong Kong Offshore Wind Farm.
The scope of the proposed Project involves the construction and operation of the following key infrastructure components:
